Lagos LCDA boss unveils project to empower girl child

The Chairman of the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Mrs. Adetola Abubakar, has officially unveiled a dedicated empowerment initiative aimed at enhancing the welfare of the girl child in the community.

The Initiative:

  • Project Name: Project S.H.E.
  • Focus: The acronym S.H.E. stands for Safety, Hygiene, and Education.
  • Objective: The project is designed to create an enabling environment for young girls to thrive by ensuring they have access to essential resources, promoting self-confidence, and fostering equal educational opportunities.

Event Highlights:

  • The official flag-off ceremony was held at the LCDA Secretariat Multipurpose Hall.
  • In her remarks, Mrs. Abubakar reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to gender inclusivity, stating that Project S.H.E. represents her promise to ensure every girl can “thrive, learn, and lead with dignity.”
  • The initiative is expected to cover crucial aspects like menstrual hygiene awareness, educational support, and measures to boost the safety and self-worth of girls in Agboyi-Ketu.
  • The project aligns with the administration’s broader agenda of social welfare, youth development, and community growth.
