Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has appointed Benibo Anabraba as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).

The appointment, announced in a statement by Dr. Honour Sirawoo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications, follows a period of political turmoil in the state. Anabraba, a former Minority Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly, replaces Tammy Danagogo, who had served as the SSG under both former Governor Nyesom Wike and Fubara before the recent state of emergency was declared.

Anabraba was sworn in on October 13, 2025, at the State Executive Council Chambers in Government House, Port Harcourt. The appointment is part of the administrative changes being made by Governor Fubara as he consolidates his team following his reinstatement.
