Lagos State has re-arraigned convicted kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as “Evans,” at the Lagos High Court in Ikeja.

The new charges relate to the alleged murder of two police officers. Evans and his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, were arraigned before Justice A. O. Ogala on a five-count charge that includes murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Both defendants have pleaded not guilty.

This re-arraignment marks another chapter in the long-running legal saga of Evans, who is already serving a life sentence for other kidnapping offenses. His legal team has previously stated that he is remorseful and has sought a plea bargain from the Lagos State Government. It has also been reported that he is pursuing his education from prison.
