woman has gone on Facebook to weigh in on the conversation about fathers s£xually abusing their daughters.
Following the arrest of a father in Enugu state for defiling his two daughters, aged 2 and 5, conversations about who children are safe to be left with have sprung up.
Some warned mothers to avoid letting fathers bathe their daughters.
However, a woman on Facebook known as Ada Naija said a father bathing his daughter does not turn men into pedophiles.
She went on to share how her dad was personally involved in her life and upbringing, yet he never acted inappropriately around her.
She wrote: “If you zoom my face, where my hand is not touching, you’ll see a small scar that looks like a birthmark.
“It’s a scratch from my daddy’s nails where he was scrubbing my face like back of pot.
“I don’t remember the age I was, but we had just moved into the first house they built so I’m thinking I’ve entered primary school or I was in nursery 3.
“Yes, my dad used to bath us while my mum made breakfast, and the only reason i hated it was because he was not gentle while bathing me like my mum.
“The first time I had my period, I had the worst possible cramps so I removed all my clothes and lay on the floor naked, around 2am, because i was hoping the cold tiles will reduce the pain, that was how my dad found me naked and went to call my mum.
“Because he occasionally comes to our rooms to check us and pray for us.
“I remember going into their apartment (that’s what we call my parents wing) and my mum handed me tissue to wipe down there when I told her my whole body was paining me, and when she saw bl00d, she gave me one oversize pad that didnt have wings.
“I remember my mum scolding me several times to stop telling my dad to buy me pad, ibuprofen and chocolate during my period because period is a woman’s thing and is that how I’ll be behaving when I’m married?
“I’ve been in several vulnerable situations around my dad and he never took advantage of me.
“It is not bathing children that turns males into pedophiles.”
