The Police Service Commission (PSC) approved the promotion of over 400 police officers and appointed a new Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) for the North-East geopolitical zone.
Key Appointments and Promotions
- New DIG for North-East: Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dankwara Mohammed, was appointed as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police, replacing DIG Sahabu Abubakar Yahaya who recently retired.
- Promotion to AIG: Commissioner of Police, Abibo Deinma Reuben, was promoted to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
- Promotion to CP: Eleven Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) were elevated to the rank of substantive Commissioners of Police (CPs).
- Other Promotions:
- Thirteen Assistant Commissioners (ACPs) were promoted to DCPs.
- Forty-four Chief Superintendents (CSPs) advanced to ACPs.
- Four hundred and twelve Superintendents (SPs) rose to the rank of CSPs.
- Several Deputy Superintendents (DSPs) were confirmed as substantive SPs.
The PSC Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (retd), congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to rededicate themselves to national service, emphasizing that promotion comes with higher responsibilities.
