Professor Mahmood Yakubu’s tenure as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ended on October 7, 2025. He was succeeded by May Agbamuche-Mbu, who is serving as the acting Chairperson.1 There is no information available about a new INEC Chairman named Joash Amupitan.
