According to multiple news outlets, West Ham United have sacked manager Graham Potter.1 The decision comes after a poor run of results that has seen the club lose four of its first five Premier League matches this season.2
Potter was appointed in January 2025, replacing Julen Lopetegui, and only spent nine months in the role.3 The club’s statement cited that “results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations.”4
The poor start to the season left West Ham in 19th place in the Premier League table.5 The final straw appeared to be a 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.6 Potter’s backroom staff have also left the club with immediate effect.7
